Why Locals Love Casa Paco

Located in the vibrant Moncloa - Aravaca district of Madrid, Casa Paco is an authentic Spanish tapas bar and restaurant that effortlessly captures the heart and soul of traditional Spanish cuisine. Specializing in hearty, flavor-packed dishes, Casa Paco invites locals and visitors alike to indulge in a rich culinary experience centered around its celebrated tortillas, croquetas, and classic tapas.

The moment you step inside Casa Paco, you’re welcomed by a lively yet intimate atmosphere that buzzes with the energy of true Madrid neighborhood dining. This is not just a place to eat; it’s a warm gathering spot where the friendly staff match your hunger with genuine hospitality, making every visit feel like a cherished routine.

Casa Paco’s menu is a treasure trove of Spanish favorites, offering a variety of bocadillos such as the crunchy Bocadillo de Calamares (€5.90) and succulent Bocadillo de Carne Asada (€5.90) that showcase classic Spanish sandwich craftsmanship. But it’s the Las Tortillas De Casa Paco that truly steal the spotlight, with creative twists like the Tortilla de Solomillo con Cebolla Crujiente y Queso Parmesano and the indulgent Tortilla de Ibérico con Foie, all priced at €7.00. Reviewers consistently rave about these tortillas—each bite delivering a perfect balance of fluffy egg, savory fillings, and caramelized onions that melt on the tongue.

Beyond tortillas, the Raciones provide generous portions of comfort food favorites like succulent Albóndigas (€13.00), crisp and golden Patatas Bravas (€8.50), and fresh, expertly fried Calamares (€13.00). These tapas classics are elevated by the freshness of ingredients and authentic seasonings, inspiring many guests to return night after night—as Heather McGreevy affectionately puts it, Casa Paco is a "neighborhood gem" that keeps visitors coming back for more.

The experience is undeniably local: the ambiance hums with the chatter and clinking glasses of regulars, and the menu is served exclusively in Spanish, adding an immersive cultural touch. While this may pose a small challenge for some tourists, it only enhances the authentic vibe that Ani Papyan so fondly describes as a “nice local vibe.”

Despite the bustling crowd, especially at lunchtime, the service remains friendly and efficient, ensuring that every plate arrives promptly and every guest feels welcomed. Fans like Dilruba Erkan Ozdemir laud Casa Paco for serving the best tortilla de patata in Madrid, while others like Simone Ugo praise the inventive pinchos that complement the core menu.

For anyone seeking a genuine taste of Madrid’s culinary heritage, Casa Paco offers a sensory journey into Spain’s beloved flavors. From the caramelized sweetness of the onion tortillas to the tender, smoky depth of the chistorra, every dish promises satisfaction. Whether you’re after a casual bite or a satisfying tapas feast, Casa Paco delivers an unpretentious yet memorable dining experience steeped in tradition.

Plan your visit to C. de Altamirano, 38, and prepare to savor Spain’s rich flavors in every bite at this cherished local hotspot—where every tortilla, croqueta, and tapa is made with passion and authenticity.

This place is a neighborhood gem! We ate here each night of our stay in Madrid after our first visit. The food is delicious, the staff are friendly, and the atmosphere can’t be beat. They specialize in tortilla & croquetas, all of which are great. We had tortilla (chistorra, cebolla caramelizada con cabral, and puerro), croquetas (boletus, cabrales, ibèrico, and cocido), albòndigas, and more. Come early and prepare to be patient - it gets increasingly busy as the evening progresses & the servers are moving on all cylinders. It’s definitely a popular spot with locals. The whole place was packed, indoors & outdoors, each night, and everyone is happy to be there. Our guy Jose is A++! It’s a few blocks away from Argüelles station (Yellow 3 line on the Metro heading towards Moncloa). Make the trip to Casa Paco, and have a bit of tortilla for us.

Very crowded at lunch time but loved place by locals. Tortillas have fixed price (per price). A bit tricky for tourists as its only spanish (menu, service) but overall tasty food and nice local vibe

Super busy, super crowded. The tortilla with onion was so delicious, and the albondigas were also tasty. The portion was quite okay. I would definitely return for the food, not much for the vibe.

Best tortilla I had in Madrid. I ve took 3 pinchos.. 1 salmon & Roquefort 1 tortilla classic with onions + 1 tortilla with peppers and caramelizwd onions. This last one was prob not the best because peppers arrived a bit too cold .. but I give 5 anyway because the overall taste was unbelievable. I ll be back for sure

Wonderful food, drink and staff. It's very busy and the service is still fast and friendly. We believed the reviews and found a great spot, with a steady flow of customers even at an early evening hour. Tables are small and close, with the kitchen/bar in the center. Food was delicious and shareable.
